Jan Levine: Game 9: NYR 5 MIN 4, Stirring Comeback, But Underlying Issues Remain
Comeback for the ages, but lots to be worked on before Saturday

The positives: Nash, the emergence of Brassard, Zuccarello starting to produce, Duclair's insane offensive upside, Kevin Klein, team face offs, their penalty kill and the never say die attitude they have shown a few times already this season.

The negatives: Slow starts in games, defense(aside from Klein and Hunwick) severely underperforming, Lundqvist's average start to the season, sloppy play in all zones, undisciplined, careless, St. Louis's inability to score and a poor power play.

But, even with all of that, what a f*cking win last night.

No supplementary discipline expected for NYR Chris Kreider for his hit last night on MIN's Jonas Brodin. He received 5-minute major and GM.

I'm surprised. Easily thought he could have been suspended. I pretty sure Michel Therrian gave little kickback in order to speed the process up.

I think they should rescind the major, it was Brodin's fault just as much as Kreider

I can see that. It was a bad hit but nothing dirty. Moore on the other hand...

the Moore hit was terrible, I say 8-10 games considering he is a repeat offender. Stupid stupid play.

Kreider has to know not him. But Brodin does see Kreider coming and just stopped. So idk what Brodin was thinking.

Yeah he's terrible. I don't care who they call up. Would be fine with any one of Allen, Mcilrath, Brodie etc.

Brodin was trying to lure Kreider into taking a hitting from behind penalty purposely that's what he was doing.

keep forgetting brodie, not sure why.

at this point, it has to be close to do or die for mcllrath. thought he looked better in the preseason, bring him up now, they have an insane amount of time before the next game, get all the practice you can see if he can get it done saturday.

Bodie and Allen both lefties, like Moore, so either one is a good option, I just hope it's not Kostka

So he put himself in a position where the opposite player could not legally hit him and Kreider decided to ram him into the boards anyway?

Edit: This being said, I don't really care that he didn't get a suspension on the play. The right call was made on the ice.

Kreider was skating about 30 miles an hour, Brodin put his fat ass in front of him to slow him down and almost ended up halfway up the stands because of his own attempt at obstruction.

I honestly don't care who they bring in as long as it's not Kostka. Wheeler, Ladd, Byfuglein and Little would eat him a live.

I think it should be Allen. 2 goals and 3 assists so far with the Pack in 7 games, I have heard he has been playing very well.

Allen had a bad camp but he has potential and is better than what he showed in the preseason.
